It was an honor to accompany my dad to the War Memorial on Sunday, the 18th, in Johnstown, PA for this ceremony.
As I'm sure many will agree, this honor was long over due because many veterans of that war are no longer with us.
My dad served with all five of his brothers and all six of them returned home safely. The pride he felt there that day with his family around him was unbelieveable. I am happy we were able to attend.
Afterwards in Morris' Tavern in Sidman, a number of people, both men and women, veterans and non-veterans alike, congratulated my dad. They all shook his hand, and told him thanks. It was a happy, but very emotional time for all of us.
Thank you Dad, and thank you too, to all you Veterans. __________________
